I simply cannot understand how any family member can be denied access to a young child. I also cannot understand what kind of junk they have filled this child’s head with for her to behave so badly around you. The only thing I can understand is that your niece is no longer your niece as you once thought you would have the opportunity to do and that is just a sad fact; a very sad fact.

I can only hope with age and wisdom she will come around again. She is at an age where she is still highly influenced by those she is being raised by, she has not yet found her innocence nor her desire to know just what did happen with her mother and her mother’s family. I do still believe that one day, your niece will come around seeking answers and that will be the opportunity to correct any falsehoods and perhaps begin to build the relationship with her you’ve always wanted.

Don’t give up just yet. As you always say, there is always hope and God will see us through the sorrow and back to joy! Bad times rarely last forever if we just believe.

You are strong. This hurts but you are strong. This brings up memories and sadness for what has not been, but you are strong and there is hope for more and better, always. God has simply said, “Now is not the time.” All good things come with time – sometimes the wait seems forever but that’s God’s time, not ours. It will happen, faith is all that is required here.

    I love you.

I love you, too, Tamela. Thank you for these words which I know are straight from your heart. You can relate as you, too, are living without your niece. I do hold out hope that one day when they are older they will seek us out. ((hugs))
