Shirley, what a fun post! My kids are still little, and they love to be lifted up by their Daddy or me (especially Daddy). And Dirty Dancing… It was the first PG-13 movie my mom let me watch (I’m sure she fast-forwarded a few parts) and I’ve always loved “the lift.” In high school as a senior, a guy friend and I would even do the lift at school dances! Except in my prom dress… it was too slippery and wouldn’t work. Lol! I’m so thankful for the Lord who always lifts us up to where we belong when we lean into His grace and love! Blessings, Tasha (visiting from Five Minute Friday)

Thank you, Tasha! This prompt word sent me from one place to another, which I LOVED! I hope it brought a smile to your face as you reminisced as well! Blessings to you and yours!

What a great post, Shirley!! One of my all-time fave movies is Dirty Dancing!! And, I love the LIFT…both the one practicing in the water, and the “live performance” she did…one of the Dancing with the Stars did a dance on some of the iconic dances from Dirty Dancing…and it was almost exactly like the movie!

I love that there is a Dirty Dancing Festival!! Hope when you attend that you have a wonderful time…as I am sure you will! You are always doing fun things with your family and creating those memories.

I love how my grandkids giggle and laugh when their daddy lifts them up into the air…higher and higher ’til they become frightened, but still giggling just as much!

And, how you brought it all around to God lifting us out of our sin! You are an amazing writer, and I appreciate your words of inspiration! Thank you for sharing!!

That means more to me than you will ever know, Barbara. I try to write with meaning and allow it to flow. Some times it is a struggle, but other times, it just keeps coming. That is what happened with this piece, and I loved tying it together with God! I feel the words come from Him, and it is my job to share with the world in hopes that it helps just one person.

      Bless you, sweet Barbara!
