Light, Love, Hope

Light in the Darkness Surrounded by Love with Hope for those in need.

If you’ve been following along, you know that Fridays are a day that we set aside to write for five whole minutes without worrying about anything but getting those words out.

Today’s prompt word provided by Lisa-Jo Baker is: Choose!

Ready?

Set!

GO!

We all make choices throughout the day. We get up and decide what to wear, if we did not already plan that out the night before. We choose what we will eat for breakfast, or whether we will even have breakfast at all. We choose which route to take to work, and the list goes on and on about our choices throughout the day.

We can also choose on more important things such as not engaging in anything negative. We can choose not to get drawn into a battle that really doesn’t have to be fought today. We can choose not to make a mountain out of a molehill. It is really possible to just be still and know that He is God. It is a choice we make. We could get upset, worry, stress, and pour negative energy out to all that we come into contact with. OR, we can choose not to take stuff on! We can choose to say, “No! Not today!” We can choose JOY!! Yes, we really can! In the mist of the storm, when someone is trying to shake us or our faith, when someone is trying to engage in a confrontation with us even. We have the power to choose NOT to engage. I’ve had to choose this myself recently. It seemed that things came up that threatened to steal my joy, but I chose NOT to allow it. There were situations that people wanted to discuss and talk about when it was already settled in my mind and in my heart. So, I chose NOT to engage in that. I did not see the benefit of rehashing the situation, so I did not. No matter how hard they tried to convince me to engage. I simply chose to be still and know that He is God! Those are the words I spoke to one very dear friend this very week several times, too.

So you see, we all make choices … choose wisely. Choose something that is going to make YOU happy. It isn’t about pleasing any one else in life – but God! Choose no to engage in controversy. Choose not to engage in anything that will bring you down. Choose not to let someone control you, even! Choose to be happy, to enjoy life, to know that you’re loved, cared for, and are special, even when the world can’t wait to tell you that you’re not. Choose NOT to believe their garbage!

STOP!
