How many would willingly admit that at one time or another in your life you have felt all alone? I will be the first to raise my hand! There have been circumstances and situations in my life that left me feeling as if I was all alone during some really hard times. In these times, I found great comfort in turning to God and clinging to the reassurance provided in His Word. No matter how I might have felt, the truth of the matter is that I was never alone because God was with me! I can rest confidently in the knowledge that even still God is with me.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT)

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Just reading these words has provided great comfort for me. When we are tormented with thoughts in our heads and feelings that leave us sinking in despair, cling to the words of God.

Look a little further down in that same chapter:

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.

The above verses offer great reassurance and confirmation. I do realize that at times when people are suffering, they will either turn TO God or AWAY from God. Just thinking of the latter occurring breaks my heart and saddens me greatly. I have known people that have struggled and felt alone, yet they would not turn to God because of their anger toward Him. Even still, though, God was with them. Through the anger, through the hateful words that may have been spoken, God was still there and all it took was a whisper from that person for God to wrap them in His love.
